Foundations of Rome: Gardens of Ceres

The goddess Ceres is saddened by the destruction of nature to make way for Rome’s foundations. In her wisdom, she has petitioned her followers to erect lavish gardens to ensure Rome does not forget from whence they came, and bring balance to the budding city’s creation.

The goddess may even elect to tamper further with the city’s construction, should she see wisdom in it…

But the city must grow, and you must enact our King’s will, even if it means building around these gardens.

A smart AI opponent that would react to your building placements and attempt to outmaneuver the player with special powers.

The Thing Boardgame Bundle

LE Bundle Includes:

The Thing is a game that mixes different mechanisms to create an experience that is as faithful as possible to that of the original film. It is a “hidden role” game, in which one player is initially the Thing and the others players are humans. The purpose of the Thing is to infect others, to prevent the survivors from escaping from the base (which can happen three different ways), or to try to escape with them by behaving as a human.

In addition to these elements, players also have to manage Outpost 31. On the map are the same rooms as seen in the film, and each of these rooms allows players to perform a different action. Human players have to feed themselves and keep the boiler and the generator on to avoid being in the cold and dark. The Thing will try to sabotage these places to make life difficult for humans…or not, trying to camouflage itself among the humans and infect them when the perfect opportunity presents itself.

The goal of the game designers was to bring the same personal emotions and paranoia that the protagonists of the film experienced to the gaming table.

The Thing: Norwegian Outpost

This expansion for The Thing – The Board Game allows you to experience the events that happened at Thule Station, the Norwegian station where it all began! As for the 1982 version, the expansion lets you relive the tensest moments from the story, transporting you into the cinematic film!

The core element of the game is based on the emulation properties of the Thing, which will hide its identity under a blanket of fake humanity, but with substantial differences in the way they interact with the game and with your feelings.

Here are the key points of the expansion:

  • A new board, new characters, and new materials.
  • A new end game condition represented by the escape of the dog that will arrive at Outpost 31. IF this happens, you can play your next game of the 1982 version with a pack leader dog (a dog that behaves differently throughout the game).
  • A new element in the game: teeth! The Thule Station crew discovers that the Alien cannot assimilate and duplicate metal parts, so dental fillings become a way to find out if a person is definitely human, but not if they are alien. The test with the wire and the flamethrower disappears and flashlights are added with which it will be possible to carry out a test and look at the teeth of the other characters, checking for the presence or lack of fillings.
  • A new location is available for the Thing: The UFO! It represents the last hope of escape for the Thing, as in the movie. The final confrontation with any remaining humans will take place here. Of course, this is only an option, and just like the dog escape mentioned above, it doesn’t necessarily happen! Everything will depend on your behavior, as you can win or lose in many ways!

In the 2011 film, as soon as they found out what’s going on, people’s behavior becomes more selfish, trying by all means to save their own lives. We therefore decided to try to include the possibility of a solitary escape, an element that will bring the level of distrust to the maximum! This also brings new mechanics, such as the ability to voluntarily sabotage vehicles even if you are human.

The expansion will contain: a new board, new characters, new cards and new tokens.

Fire & Stone

In Fire & Stone the players lead their tribe through the Stone Age. They scout new lands, harvest nuts and mushrooms and finally build villages. The aim of the game is to have the most successful tribe by exploring new lands, building huts and gathering resources. With the invention of new tools and techniques like ship building or pottery the expansion of the player’s tribe can even be accelerated.

Each space the scouts can enter contains upside-down discover tokens. When a scout moves on one of those tokens for the first time, they are turned over and trigger an effect. From now on these tokens can be used as a player action with a different effect. By the end of the game, the player who made the most victory points with villages and accomplishing tasks, wins.

First Rat

For generations, the rats in the old junkyard have been telling each other the great legend about a moon made out of cheese. And now they have plan: build a rocket and take over the Cheese Moon!

Of course, all the rats work together to achieve this magnificent goal. However, each rat family is also competing to build the most rocket parts and to train the most Rattrounauts so they can feast on as much of the lunar cheese as possible.

Play solo of with up to 5 players. Numerous strategies, special skills, and a variable setup create new excitement for every game.

Vagrantsong

You trainhop aboard the Silver Ferryman, chasin’ a dream or runnin’ from the past. What you find is a welcomin’ hand – white glove, stretched skin… and a fiddle player in the distance, playin’ a tune that’s awfully inviting. Makes you never wanna leave.

In Vagrantsong, a cooperative and story-driven boss battler, you will take on the role of a Vagrant trapped on a supernatural ghost train. Face off against ghosts lingering on the train (called Haints), adjust your playstyle with Skills and Junk acquired along the way, and uncover the secrets of the Silver Ferryman in this spooky and challenging adventure.

In each of the 20+ Scenarios in Vagrantsong’s campaign, players will take turns spending their 3 Coins to take actions, such as: moving around the train board, investigating the unknown, and rummaging for items that might help them get out of a tight spot. Additionally, players can spend their Coins on more exclusive actions to remind a Haint of their lost Humanity, all in the hopes of freeing the spirit from the ghost train’s bone-chilling grip, and winning the Scenario in the process. But be careful! Each Haint has their own bag of tricks and gameplay mechanics. They will stop at nothing to make sure that the players lose all of their Humanity and stay aboard forever.

After each Scenario, players will have a moment to rest, allowing them the opportunity to change out their Skill and Junk cards, heal their Vagrant, and prepare for their next encounter aboard the Silver Ferryman.

Sabaton: A Battle Through History

In A Battle Through History, you become a Sabaton—a time-traveling storyteller jumping through history so you can relive epic (and often unlikely!) battles alongside legendary troops and heroes. Your success will depend on the skills of the warriors you recruit during your travels, but even more on your willingness to dare or defend. Every battle is a great challenge… Every battle is different! Are you ready to become a real Sabaton?

ECO: Coral Reef

In ECO: Coral Reef each participant will play the role of a marine biologist, who is hired to proved assistance in planning an ecological coral reef, for the conservation of the marine life.

The players will collect and place pictures of the marine life, to create an ecological mosaic. By matching species and completing missions, each player advances his sea turtle towards the water line and to victory.

Shards of the Jaguar

Shards of the Jaguar is a competitive “dungeon-deduction” game, which requires both strategic and tactical thinking. It is about an initiation trial where you and your fellow initiates have to prove that you are worthy of your tribe’s legendary animal’s, the Jaguar’s power.

The Jaguar was the defender of the tribe in the ancient times, but on a fateful day it got struck by a terrible curse and was broken into crystal shards.

The Shards of the Jaguar are still to be found in the Sacred Temple among the mountains, and the initiation trial is about to seek them and incorporate their power. But your journey will not be that easy. The temple is filled with perilous traps, and you have to learn how to use them, if you want to acquire the Jaguar’s hunting instinct.

Try to foresee what the others will do and set clever traps against them. Collect precious crystal shards, mystical amulets and map pieces leading to the Heart of the Jaguar. Outsmart the others and be the best in this trial to become the heir of the Jaguar, the defender of the tribe!

Shards of the Jaguar has eight rounds, and in each round, each player sets a trap secretly (Poisonous Gas/Darts/Guards/Earthquake), and then each player moves their character in the temple spending action points. You can move, take crystal shards, perform rituals and heal yourself in your turn for the action points. But move carefully! Each space on the game board could contain a secret trap – activated by another player – so you have to pay attention to each other’s movements to be able to find out which traps will be activated and so which spaces are safe for that round.

After each player spent their action points, you activate the traps and check who got hit by them (gathering different negative effects). If you were able to hit another player with your trap, you get glory points, as you are worthy of the Jaguar’s hunting instinct. At the end of the game you count the points you get for the crystal shards, the glory points for the successful traps, and the player with the most points wins the game.
