Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

LegendoftheFiveRingsBigBanner

Welcome to the realm of Rokugan: a land of samurai and mystics, mad dragons and divine beings — a land where honor is stronger than steel. Here, the clans serve the Emperor and engage in courtly deceptions and power plays, even as they wage war against each other and the evil forces that plague their realm. This is the world of Legend of the Five Rings!

Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game is a Living Card Game set in the world of Rokugan, the original setting for the Legend of the Five Rings collectible card game. To play a Living Card Game, players create individual decks of cards from a base game with a fixed set of cards; they can then add supplemental card packs to this game world, with each pack also having a fixed set of cards, in order to vary their game experience.

While the connection of Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game to Rokugan and the Colonies — as well as its pervasive themes of honor, nobility, magic, intrigue, duty, and warfare — should carry over from the original L5R CCG, Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game is not compatible with that original game and will feature significant changes in the game mechanisms.

Gateway Uprising

Players of the deck-building card game Gateway: Uprising take on the roles of insurgent wizards determined to reclaim the Great City of Gateway.

Each player begins with the game with the same starter resources of basic insurgent wizards, merchants, and a magical Runestone – but from there the similarities end. Players will draft new wizards, heroes, and magical creatures into their ranks, building up an army to defeat and defend the different districts of Gateway.

After successfully liberating a district, the player gains access to its unusual power, such as cheaper resources, additional defenses, or even the ability to magically damage foes from afar. Be warned: Not only will other rebel insurgents attempt to steal your districts away from you, but you’ll also have to battle against the forces of Chancellor Gideon and an invading onslaught of terrible monsters called the Drueggar.

To aid you in this are Runestones – powerful one-time-use spells that can turn the tide of battle instantly or provide the player with a temporary boost to his coffers. However, once used, Runestones become empty shells and are discarded for the remainder of the game.

To win the game, players must collect victory points by defeating the city guard and Drueggar Horde, controlling important districts, or through special insurgent abilities they draft into their ranks. Don’t delay and play the waiting game — if the Drueggar manage to take all the city districts, it’s game over for both the insurgents and the innocent citizens of Gateway!

Here their numbers are more than doubled, new events are themed for their spheres of influence, and legendary relics are imbued with their incredible powers — one for each Incarnation since you first braved the caverns.

Embark on a quest and see whether you are cutthroat enough to become its very Incarnation.

The Lord of the Rings Card Game: The Mountain of Fire

“We come now to the very brink, where hope and despair are akin. To waver is to fall.”
–Aragorn, The Return of the King

Dire, world-shattering stakes. Epic Multiplayer Mode. The fate of all Middle-earth… Mountain of Fire is the sixth and final The Lord of the Rings Saga Expansion for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game!

Three epic scenarios grant you the opportunity to adventure alongside Aragorn and Frodo Baggins as they march to the Black Gate, carry the One Ring into the heart of Mordor, and climb the final steps to the fires of Mount Doom. These scenarios are inspired directly by The Return of the King, and their apocalyptic, world-altering stakes are reflected by the introduction of the dire keyword, which raises the threat elimination level to “99,” and by rules that allow you play the final two scenarios simultaneously in Epic Multiplayer Mode, either in standalone play or as the climactic finale to your The Lord of the Rings Saga Campaign!

And it’s not just the scenarios that are bigger and more fantastic than ever. Mountain of Fire is loaded with new heroes, allies, events, and attachments that truly convey the awesome resolve of those noble and daring Men, Elves, Dwarves, and Hobbits that stood at the end against the forces of Mordor.

Codenames: Disney Family Edition

In Codenames, two teams compete to see who can guess all of their words correctly first — but those words are hiding in plain sight in a 5×5 grid that includes the words of the other team, neutral words, and an assassin that will cause you to lose the game immediately if you guess it. One person on each team is a spymaster and only these two know which words belong to each team. Spymasters take turns giving one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. Their teammates try to guess words of the right color while avoiding those that belong to the opposing team — and everyone wants to avoid the assassin.

Codenames: Disney Family Edition keeps the Codenames gameplay, while featuring characters and locations from a variety of Disney and Pixar films, with words on one side of the cards and images on the other.

Catan: Legend of the Sea Robbers Seafarers Scenario

Catan: Seafarers Scenario – Legend of the Sea Robbers includes four new linked scenarios that tell the “Legend of the Sea Robber” to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Catan: Seafarers. Each scenario can be played individually, with players trying to win the game as usual by collecting ten victory points, but players can also record their scores at the end of each scenario, with effects of one game affecting the next.

Catan: Seafarers Scenario – Legend of the Sea Robbers requires both the Catanbase game and the Catan: Seafarers expansion.

Crossfire

The Intel is solid. Raxxon will be transporting a VIP through a sector heavy with civilian traffic. This makes the mission a tricky one. You’ll be working alone as they try to throw you off their tail. Don’t be fooled. You need to get in and get the job done before the chance passes by. Just be sure to not get caught in the crossfire. Deception and negotiation are your greatest tools. Complete your mission, no matter the costs.

Introducing Crossfire, a game in the world of Specter Ops. Emerson Matsuuchi has partnered with Plaid Hat Games again to take players back into the dystopian struggle between Raxxon and A.R.K. This time, players compete in two teams to either protect or assassinate a Raxxon VIP, while trying to determine whether other players at the table are who they really claim to be. The clock is ticking…
