Champions of Hara

Beneath the roots, way, way down through the layers of what was, past the golden stove, and even deeper than darkness…the sky opens back up. At the core of everything, in the belly of the soul, you’ll find Hara. Look to it when you are tired, scared, or hungry. Call out, and it will find you.

Champions of Hara is an adventure board game in which 1-4 players race to protect a dying world. Players will contain destructive energy by defeating monsters, closing rifts, and exploring the six different zones within Hara. In order to rise to the challenge, players will need to unlock new abilities and collect powerful items. Each session takes approximately 30 minutes per player.

In versus mode, players will compete against one another in arena style combat. The winner is offered a powerful blessing by Hara’s stewards: a single wish to shape the future. However, wishes are no simple matter. In co-op mode, players will work together to overcome the fallout from the champion’s wish, facing off against corrupted foes and solving scenario based challenges.

Aeon’s End: Legacy

“You are not breach mages yet,” Brama lectures as she paces down the line of students, her frail form belying her immense power. “Breach mages have protected us since the beginning — since the burning of the world and our pilgrimage into the dark. It was they who founded Gravehold, our last bastion, and if you wish to stand beside these living legends, you must listen and learn. The Nameless shall come again, as they always have, and you will need to be ready. You are the hope of our future.”

As a young apprentice, you grew up to stories of the breach mages. Brama, the teacher, wisest of the mages. Dezmodia, the prodigy, master of great magic. Mist, the stoic leader and tactical genius. Malastar, the magical craftsman. Rebellious, powerful, and reckless perfectly sum up Xaxos. These mages are your heroes and tomorrow, after your ordeal, you will join their ranks.

“Each of you must overcome your ordeal to learn discipline and focus, the tools you will need to defend Gravehold. We are nothing without Gravehold. To be a breach mage is to sacrifice your life for Gravehold. When you die, it will be in defense of our city. Once you understand this universal truth…only then will you be ready to become a breach mage.”

Aeon’s End is not required to play Aeon’s End: Legacy.

Monster Slaughter

Comanauts

Dr. Martin Strobal, the greatest mind of our generation, lies in a coma. His Mobius Ring invention promised to change the world, but has instead given us our greatest disaster. Meant to provide the world with unlimited clean energy, the Mobius Ring malfunctioned, bathing Dr. Strobal in radiation, and creating a singularity that threatens to consume the world. We need him back, and the only way to revive him from his coma is to enter his subconscious and free him from the demons found within.

Comanauts is the second installment in Jerry Hawthorne’s Adventure Book system following Stuffed Fables. This game of exploration and danger builds on the mechanisms first introduced in that earlier title, providing a new experience for more mature players. Race against time to revive Dr. Strobal by exploring his tormented mind. As players work together to uncover the secrets of the doctor’s subconscious, they will follow his inner child across eleven different Comazones. There they attempt to locate and overcome the Inner Demon that holds Dr. Strobal hostage. Assume the role of 22 unique avatars as you explore the dangers and secrets of each world locked inside the doctor’s dream. Can you free Dr. Strobal from his own mind before it’s too late?

Starship Samurai: Shattered Alliances Expansion (Releases Thursday)

Image result for Starship Samurai: Shattered Alliances

Shattered Alliances is an explosive expansion for Starship Samurai, bringing more variety and methods for inflicting humiliating defeat upon your friends! Two new, beautifully sculpted mechs bring new abilities to humble your enemies and combo with your other forces. A whopping forty new action cards will shake up your games with a level of variety that will leave every player guessing at their opponents’ next moves. Many of these new action cards are clan-specific, bestowing even bigger, bolder effects on players allied with the right clans.

A Feast for Odin: The Norwegians Expansion (Releases Thursday)

The first large expansion for A Feast for OdinThe Norwegians includes four new islands (Isle of Man, Isle of Skye, Islay, Outer Hebrides) with Irish coastal viking-settlements on the backside (Waterford, Wexford, Cork, Limerick), where people from Norway came to stay through the winter (longphort), to trade at, and to settle nearby. This offers new strategies and new puzzle-pieces like horse (6VP, 2×5 spaces)/pregnant horse/leather(green)/vadmal(blue) and pigs (1 VP, breed every round; 2×3 – 1 = 5 spaces)/herbal (orange)/ antler (green)/tools (blue). The game will have a third box for the pieces and the four old islands, too (little different VPs and new graphic-aspects of mini-expansion islands Lofoten/Orkneys/Tierra del Fuego).

The expansion includes another mountain-strip, more two-silver coins, meat/beans and runes/oil and a “little emigration” piece that covers one food instead of two. You get it on a new action-plan for giving away a whaling boat. The plan has three pieces that can be turned around for different numbers of players (version for 1-2, 3, and 4 players), which increases the chances of players getting in each other’s way. It contains new opportunities like butchering, elk-hunting, fishing, and thievery, along with changes for some old actions. It’s now easier, for example, to play an animal strategy, also because you can now get two of the same animals in one action. There is also a new fifth row to make a (better) action with your last viking. You can smith, for example, now a grey piece with maximum of eight swords by using an ore and only one action. Also for this, there are five new grey puzzle-pieces like pan, hauberk or anvil and a little board for smith-able pieces with fewer than nine swords.

Totally new is also the idea of a random start-building. Everybody gets one of the six boards and can build the front or back with one wood and one action. These buildings offer, covered like stonehouse and longhouse, some stuff (pieces, weapons, commodities), VPs and one silver (horse stable 2 silver), so everybody has another different start-opportunity – like the profession card. In this expansion, you choose the best of two cards to start with. Another new option is, that instead of puting a profession card into the game, you can throw it away for a VP-chip. A nice little competitive element, because there are only two 4-VP-chips, six 3-VP-chips and eight (endless) 2-VP-chips.

As before, the expansion includes an almanac about game-elements and their viking-history, again written by Gernot Köpke as a “historical-science”-journalist and learnd lokal newspaper editor.

Image result for Resident Evil 2: The Board Game

Resident Evil 2 is a cooperative board game where you play as the characters and scenarios from the hit video game from Capcom. Travel from the police station to the underground Umbrella Laboratory while you uncover the secrets and escape from Raccoon City!

Gugong (due to arrive after 4:00pm)

China, 1570. China is under the reign of the Longqing Emperor, of the Ming Dynasty. He inherited a country in disarray after years of mismanagement and corruption. He resided in the Forbidden city, which was the seat of many emperors under the Ming Dynasty. Constructed from 1406 to 1420, the complex consists of 980 buildings and covers 72 ha (over 180 acres). It is also under the Ming Dynasty that the Great Wall of China was rebuilt, fortified, and expanded. Around this period, China was under heavy attack from the Mongols, so maintaining the Great Wall was essential. Most of what we now have left of the Great Wall, we owe to the Ming dynasty.

The country was already famous for its very intricate bureaucracy, but this also led to a lot of corruption. Even though the penalties for corruption were very high, the highest Officials of the Forbidden City would pretend to uphold the ban on corruption, by accepting gifts of petitioners, and returning one of seemingly lower value.

Gùgōng uses this extraordinary custom as its basis. Players take on the role of powerful Chinese families trying to gain influence and power by exchanging gifts with Officials. The gift cards you offer as a player have to be of a higher value than the one you receive, forcing you to make strategic choices regarding which actions you want to take each turn. You will travel around China, sail down the Grand Canal, purchase precious jade, help construct the Great Wall, secure advantages through decrees, influence the game through intrigue, and ultimately, receive an audience with the emperor. If only 1 player succeeds in doing so, he wins. If several players succeed, the player with the most VPs among those players wins the game.

Root

Root is a game of adventure and war in which 2 to 4 (1 to 6 with the ‘Riverfolk’ expansion) players battle for control of a vast wilderness.

The nefarious Marquise de Cat has seized the great woodland, intent on harvesting its riches. Under her rule, the many creatures of the forest have banded together. This Alliance will seek to strengthen its resources and subvert the rule of Cats. In this effort, the Alliance may enlist the help of the wandering Vagabonds who are able to move through the more dangerous woodland paths. Though some may sympathize with the Alliance’s hopes and dreams, these wanderers are old enough to remember the great birds of prey who once controlled the woods.

Meanwhile, at the edge of the region, the proud, squabbling Eyrie have found a new commander who they hope will lead their faction to resume their ancient birthright. The stage is set for a contest that will decide the fate of the great woodland. It is up to the players to decide which group will ultimately take root.

Root represents the next step in our development of asymmetric design. Like Vast: The Crystal Caverns, each player in Root has unique capabilities and a different victory condition. Now, with the aid of gorgeous, multi-use cards, a truly asymmetric design has never been more accessible.

The Cats play a game of engine building and logistics while attempting to police the vast wilderness. By collecting Wood they are able to produce workshops, lumber mills, and barracks. They win by building new buildings and crafts.

The Eyrie musters their hawks to take back the Woods. They must capture as much territory as possible and build roosts before they collapse back into squabbling.

The Alliance hides in the shadows, recruiting forces and hatching conspiracies. They begin slowly and build towards a dramatic late-game presence–but only if they can manage to keep the other players in check.

Meanwhile, the Vagabond plays all sides of the conflict for their own gain, while hiding a mysterious quest. Explore the board, fight other factions, and work towards achieving your hidden goal.

In Root, players drive the narrative, and the differences between each role create an unparalleled level of interaction and replayability. Leder Games invites you and your family to explore the fantastic world of Root!

Brave knights take up their lances, tighten their saddles, and mount their birds. Who can defeat the most foes, capture the most eggs, and truly gain the glory of being the world’s best at Joust?

Joust brings the classic video arcade game to the tabletop in an action-packed, strategy board game. Requiring players to manage the speed and altitude of their knight, Joust features a unique momentum system that has players playing cards that immediately move their knight, but repeat effects for turns to come. Act quickly, but think ahead, because in the game of Joust speed can be your greatest ally — or biggest foe.

Escape Tales: The Awakening

Escape Tales: The Awakening is a card game based on the escape room concept, but you’re not limited by time when it comes to finishing this adventure as the game is focused on the story and your exploration of it, while engaging the puzzles within and making choices that will immerse you deeply. As for the story, here’s the set-up:

Players take on the role of Sam, whose daughter has been in a coma for over two months and whose doctors still cannot explain how this happened or what caused it. According to them, everything is fine with the girl; she’s healthy and shouldn’t be in this condition. Sam is desperate and looks for answers everywhere he can, which leads to a weird meeting with Mark.

Mark’s son was once in a similar situation, and his father was able to help wake the boy up. He has given Sam a scary-looking book and said that inside this book he will find a ritual called “The Awakening”. But Mark warned Sam that he needs to prepare himself mentally since this ritual will transfer him into another dimension, where he should be able to find his daughter and understand what is the cause of this state. If Sam’s lucky enough, then he will be able to wake her up as well. Sam has held onto the book for more than a week. Finally, he’s ready to go into the basement and perform a ritual. Are you ready, too?

The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls

(due to arrive after 4:00pm)

The official Binding of Isaac multiplayer card game, about sacrifice, betrayal and hoarding.

2-4 players take turns playing loot cards and using items to kill monsters that yield more items, loot, and sometimes souls. The first player to end their turn with 4 souls is the winner. Cooperation, barter, and betrayal is encouraged.

One Week Ultimate Werewolf (due to arrive after 4:00pm)

One Week Ultimate Werewolf takes the gameplay of One Night Ultimate Werewolf and twists it up in a knot, with ever-increasing tension as you venture into the special rooms of Ludwig Castle. Each room provides a special power, and those powers are the key to figuring out the mystery of who among you is a werewolf. Roles can be viewed and switched several times before all is said and done, then the final vote takes place.

As in One Night Ultimate Werewolf, your goal is to figure out the secret roles of your opponents as well as your own role by the end of the game. Each day, you enter a different room with a unique ability, and each night you interact with the other players in that room. In addition to the 3-7 players, three staff members roam the castle, and each of them also has a secret role. After a week’s investigation (which should take about 45 minutes), it all comes down to a vote. If you’re a werewolf, you’re trying to remain undiscovered. If you’re a villager, you’re trying to find those sneaky werewolves. And if you’re a Tanner, well, you’re trying to get caught!

One Week Ultimate Werewolf comes with more than a dozen unique rooms. You play with just a few each game, making each game different.

Terminator Genisys: Rise of the Resistance (due to arrive after 4:00pm)

Terminator Genisys: Rise of the Resistance is a cooperative tactical board game for 1-4 players where you play as the leaders of the Resistance, liberating humankind from the clutches of the machines. Use the mission guide to select your scenario or play through in campaign mode. Build the modular map and select your favorite resistance hero before engaging the terminators in a battle for survival. Roll dice and allocate them to abilities, weapons, movement and more. Keep pressing on toward the next waypoint but don’t get overrun by the machines.

Blossoms  (due to arrive after 4:00pm)

In Blossoms (original title Kwiatki), players compete to create the most beautiful flower bouquet. The longer the flowers, the higher they score!

To set up, give each player two random face-down cards and three action tokens. Place the flower pots in the center of the playing area with space above them for the growing flowers. Place four different flower cards, one in each pot. Take one card from the draw pile and place it aside face-down.

Players alternate taking turns, trying to make the most valuable combination of flowers possible. On their turn, a player can conduct any number of actions, which are:

Growth — Draw one card from the deck and place it in any pot that has the same flower type.
Cut — Cut down one pot of flowers to score points; this ends your round.
Special — Use your action tokens to perform one extra action depending on which pot you choose.
A player’s turn ends when they decide to cut flowers, pass, or when they have BAD LUCK. The game ends when the last card from the deck is drawn. Points are then scored by the size and diversity of sets you have planted. Whoever has the higher score wins!
